I just sent my Penske shock that I had on my RC51 to Penske to have it switched over to fit my 95 Monster 900. I've looked all over for different mounting locations. I've seen them mounted on the frame below the tank and on the side of the frame under the seat. I've never seen one mounted on the frame where the shock pivot mounts to. It doesn't seem to have any clearance issues. Anyone thought of this or seen this before?
Many with Ohlins shocks used to rotate the hose fitting to allow that mount location. Someone even used to make a bracket.
It doesn't allow for easy adjustment on the go, but it looks clean.
I don't really need to adjust it on the fly. I just don't like the look of it hanging off the side of the bike. Does anybody know if the mounts for underneath the frame are still available?
I don't know off hand what your reservoir looks like, but this is what I did with my Ohlins:

I used the rubbers that came with the shock and a hose clamp.
The Penske is a little bigger than the Ohlins. The only difference is the hose will be routed on the other side. The hose will be about 4" away from the rear exhaust header. I don't think this is an issue as I've had other bikes with the reservoir location closer than that. Thanks for the pictures.
