That's for torqueing the head nuts, can't get to them with a regular socket.

The craftsman one is (apparently) his.

The one in the print is mine.  [laugh]

Awesome!  [bacon]

And great self control too. There's this irresistible compulsion to do stuff "while I'm in there" that's kept my bike apart for a whole year.

i know this sounds silly, but it looks like the leak was from the valve cover not the head which was apparently a big enough issue that they say the covers either have a flat gasket or sealant on them when closing, not just the round gasket.

Yes.
There were leaks all over the place.
The leaks from the covers were an easy fix with gasket sealant. But the more concerning leaks to me were coming from under the head cylinders.
Not silly though raux. This shit was leaking everywhere. Almost every valve/camshaft cover too.

Don't say it out loud! I have a BSA mate who reads here sometimes, and I pay out on him constantly about oil leaks on beezas.

If you want a reliable bike that doesn't leak (don't hate me), buy a Japanese bike!  :D

Not true!  I took my Zook to the dealer (warranty) 3 times to fix the Triumph-esque leak it developed after a mere 10k miles.  The Duc is messy, but doesn't mark it's territory.

Wow, well you give me hope for changing my chain even though I don't have a double side rearstand. :-\

All im saying is ducs have always had the connotation of being finniky, and that ppl need to have at least a minimal amount of mechanical knowledge to own one (which I barely have).
