Title: Spare part ideas/help please Post by: CJC900 on May 30, 2013, 03:41:00 AM Hi Everyone,
I have not been on the forum for a few years ( damn work and other interruptions) I had planned on heading off on the long weekend with friends down the NSW coast and had a new rear tyre fitted. When I refitted the wheel on the bike I was unscrewing the chain adjuster and it picked up a thread , jammed and snapped the allen head bolt. I have a mate who is a motor mechanic with a well fitted out workshop and we tried easy outs, heating the aluminium casting, swearing, etc but nothing worked. It is a 95 M900 and I called Frasers but no part in Oz. It is the aluminium casting that fits inside the swingarm and the axle passes through it. Does anyone know any Ducati wreckers in Sydney or have an old part lying around? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Con Title: Re: Spare part ideas/help please Post by: FIFO on May 30, 2013, 04:00:44 AM Give these guys a call http://www.ducati-gowanloch.com/ (http://www.ducati-gowanloch.com/) Or try Dmoto take the part down there to Shaun he might be able to fix it ? or have an old one, they are very good on bikes [thumbsup] http://www.dmoto.com.au/ (http://www.dmoto.com.au/) Cheers Sir Rob ;D Title: Re: Spare part ideas/help please Post by: OzzyRob on May 30, 2013, 06:00:00 AM Have you tried a burr in a drill press or trying to drill the bolt out ?
You'll probably have to have a helicoil or similar installed. Give Ben Shaw at Extreme Creations a call, he's top bloke and nothing's too small or difficult. http://www.extremecreations.com.au/index.asp (http://www.extremecreations.com.au/index.asp) Title: Re: Spare part ideas/help please Post by: CJC900 on May 30, 2013, 10:55:59 AM Thanks for all of the replies and emails everyone.

This is why I like this forum, everyone helps everyone else. Hi OzzyRob , Mick lives out Appin way, we have been on rides in the past. I haven't seen him on the forum for a while. - it is not bushfire season so he can't blame that. Probably busy with life like the rest of us ( any free time used for riding!!!!). Hi loony888, I am near Campbelltown so pretty close to where Mick lives. Where are you-how much do you want for the part? Cheers, Con Title: Re: Spare part ideas/help please Post by: OzzyRob on May 31, 2013, 08:06:43 PM I always thought Mad Mick was a true blue GSXR rider.......what he doesn't know about gsxr's isn't worth knowing.

If you have no luck getting one from a wreckers pm me mate, i've just looked it up, it's a 37310011a and it's $107 US!holy crap! $50 plus postage will be fine but i doubt wreckers know what new ones are worth so you should be able to get one for less surely.....
