Title: Rearsets
Post by: Kabulpostie on June 06, 2013, 07:20:46 AM
Looking to see if anyone knows of after market rearsets that don't break the bank? I've been searching around, and it seems like the cheapest ones I can find run about $400..Any insight as to why they cost so much..Bike is a 2006 S2R 1000

Thanks for the info, especially if it leads to a good deal ;D

Some adjust ability would be nice, but primarily cosmetic I guess

Other possible choices include:
Ducabike - $$
Rizoma - $$$
Gilles - $$$$
CycleCat - $$$
Valter Motor - $$
Sato - $$$$

I would check with our local sponsors (i.e. Monsterparts) to see what they have and price point.

The only rearset for S*R series that works are ...

DP (Ducati Performance / AELLA ) : BIG $$$
Cycle Cat : ditto
Rizoma
Sato Racing

Those rearsets are properly designed. There may be others that work, but you want to make sure before you purchase.

Old thread but read them first.

In any case, DON'T buy Gilles.

Any insight as to why they cost so much..
Design time, materials, #hours on the mill(s)/CNC and finishing. Time on a CNC machine ain't cheap.

I put a set of these on my S2R1000 and like them  [thumbsup]
cheaper than full reasets , have adjustment, very grippy, they fold , and are very well made

Thanks for the responses, I guess just painting or powder coating is the most economical solution since this is pretty much a bling thing for the bike, man I have expensive tastes...LOL
