Title: 620 Dark "bAtt" on cluster LCD
Post by: stealinglight on June 14, 2013, 05:24:12 PM
hey so I'm having this issue with my monster.

it will startup fine and run but when I turn it off and try to start it up again I get this 'bAtt' on the LCD screen
even when the key is turned to off and taken out.

I try to start it up again turn the key to ON and just the neutral and oil light with the fuel pump humming, but the needles don't sweep and nothing else shows up on the LCD like mileage.

I did some googleing and I couldn't find anything referring to this I check the manual for the bike and the workshop manual and there is no mention of bAtt I've talked to the 3 Ducati dealers in the area and they are trying to tell me its my battery but I've had it tested at all 3 places and the battery checked out.

if anyone could help me i would really appreciate it since this is my daily driver and only mode of transportation.

Never saw that on a 620 before.

That's a new one to me, too.

One possibility is that one of the power wires for your gauges is broken.

BATT 5.1 Battery voltage error
BATT 5.2 Battery voltage error

I know it's for an 848, worth a shot. All the xx8 bikes getting the errors had regulator/rectifier issues.

If poking around doesn't reveal anything suspicious, I'd test charging system components.
