More to come later. ;D Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Cher on June 16, 2013, 09:03:46 AM OH-MY-GOD :o Congratulations! You're going love that bike. Makes you just want to ride to... ALASKA [laugh] Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: alancb on June 16, 2013, 09:07:53 AM Congrats - you are going to love it (trust me on this one!) :D
Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Mhanis on June 16, 2013, 12:18:50 PM Freaking awesome!!!!
Congrats ass! Just kidding.............. Jerk. I am sure it is fantastic. Mark Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: muskrat on June 16, 2013, 02:06:26 PM well well well [evil]
I heard words long ago and said "never say never" [laugh] We all eat our words but in this case it's worth it. Congrats, hope to join the party soon. Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: system error on June 16, 2013, 07:15:37 PM Thanks everyone. I tried tons of bikes but none of them could do everything as well as the Multi.
Riding to Houston tomorrow to break her in. I'm going to try riding vs flying for meetings now (Houston, Austin, Lubbock). Mileage and a hotel is less than a plane ride and a hotel, and a ton more fun. See you all soon! [Dolph] Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Cher on June 17, 2013, 05:20:49 AM Cool. Alan rode his Multi to Kansas to visit his Mom right after he bought it; no comfort issues what so ever. The bike's warp-speed, on the other hand, proved a bit more problematic [evil] Is your Multi the new Gran Tourismo version with the Sky Hook suspension? And is that a factory windscreen? Looks taller and a bit wider than most I've seen. Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: muskrat on June 17, 2013, 05:54:26 AM riding or driving now? hell-of-a storm passed through here this morning and isn't letting up so far. let us know how the "rain" protection works out.
Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Mhanis on June 17, 2013, 05:59:46 AM Multiple choice questions for everyone:

A- Jason B- System Error C- Selbach [cheeky] [drink] [laugh] ;D Mark Haha, I just sell them just before each service is due. Congrats on the new wheels, I have not met an unsatisfied multi owner yet! Company pays $0.55 / mile. If that doesn't cover the service bill then I don't know what to tell you.
It's the base version so no skyhook, center stand or heated grips. However, the side bags were free and the top case was very affordable. Compared to Honda who wanted 2,400 for all three bags ??? The screen is standard but I ordered the one from the GT model since it's tinted and larger. And yes Skat, I still plan to ride today despite the storm. A little dirt and water won't hurt it but if you'd like I'm happy to let you wash it when I get back. At least that way you get some idea of what it would be like to own one. ;D Gotta ride. Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: system error on June 18, 2013, 07:51:16 PM It's 10:39 pm so Mhanis is curled up with his teddy bear and dreaming of princess fairies right now.
In other news, I did 550+ miles in the last two days. Gotta say, the Multi is an amazing bike. The bigger windscreen will be a god send and I can see the use of a center stand. Not sure why everyone thinks the mirrors are so good, compared to my old VFR they are a joke. Still better than any ducati I've even seen or ridden. Complaining aside, this is clearly the best bike I've ever ridden. Had the chance to take some great side roads with 30 - 35 mph corners. Went though them at 70 - 75mph and constantly felt like the bike was just yawning at me. The thing is just nuts. I can't imagine what an 1198 super bike must be like. Urban mode is fantastic for Houston and Dallas driving during traffic. Never tried sport mode (too scared) but touring mode is nuts enough. Great gas mileage, amazing power, super comfortable. Pretty in an ugly sort of way, but it's growing on me. For a touring bike this is more than perfect. For a sports bike it can make fun of squids with little trouble. Not sure of off road but it's a ducati so who wants to get it dirty? ;D Very happy. Can't believe I'm saying that about a ducati again. [Dolph] Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Mhanis on June 19, 2013, 07:30:39 AM ** wipes eye boogers away **
.....................and I was dreaming of Garry McCoy sliding his Yamaha all over the track. I don't know WHY I was dreaming that but it was better than fairies. I am glad you dig the bike. It will be a shame that I will never get to see it an action as my rear view mirrors suck as you pointed out. [laugh] Man, I crack myself up sometimes!! Mark Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: muskrat on June 19, 2013, 09:32:05 AM No one can believe you are saying all that about another Duc. [coffee]

Glad you like it [thumbsup] Now, about that Arkansas trip... [evil] Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: system error on June 21, 2013, 04:26:21 AM Arkansas? On the VFR maybe. With the Multi I'm thinking more like Argentina! [Dolph]
But yes, Arkansas would be just fine. Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: Cher on June 21, 2013, 02:12:22 PM It's closer than Alaska... or Argentina. I think September would be the time frame. Four or five days [Dolph] Title: Re: I have returned! Post by: muskrat on June 24, 2013, 04:31:00 AM I tow a trailer behind the Harley, just wait at the borders for me. [evil]
