Hello everyone,

This is my first post on this forum, I've been looking for an anti-theft system for my Monster. I'm know about the OEM system but after some research  I came across the Scorpio SR-i900 and looks like it's got some advantages over the Ducati OEM sytem, one of them is the "hands free" function, configurability and two way FM paging system.

I don't want to splice the factory harness, this is the only one that will offer connector kits for Ducati.

* Any experience with the Scorpio SR-i900?
* Anyone has installed this in a 796? any adaptations required?

Pager works great, it has a battery voltage reader and the adjustable perimeter sensor tells people to back off.

One wire to the battery and plug in the factory harness connector - easy, but for once read the instructions!

Pager battery works for weeks. If you have a weak bike battery, it will require a bike battery charger if you don't for several weeks.

Did you also installed the ignition disable?? Where did you mounted the main module?

No ignition disable - I'm not comfortable with a device spliced into my ignition AND it's not thieves riding it off I'm worried about - the immobilizer is preventing that.

The main module goes under the seat. So does the perimeter sensor, but it is mounted in the center of the bike, and a little to the right to be as level as possible when the bike is on it's side stand (my under seat tray is curved)(if yours is not, try to build a platform that becomes level). That way it detects mass (people mostly) moving in from all sides.

Do note,  A talking alarm can offend some people.  Granted these people are low lives but I personally have seen some losers reactions to the talking car alarms.  Push a shopping cart next to it/into it..........

The best alarm is quiet and pages you so that you can show up before they take it.  How many times do we hear a car alarm go off and keep going about our business?  An audible alarm is not much a a deterrent.  Years ago in SoCal I watched some rather large gangster types pull a mini truck up next to a guys GSXR.  It took less than 30 seconds for them to pick up the bike and slide it into the back of the carpet kitted camper shell wearing pickup.

Luckily I was the only "Man" that witnessed this (amongst dozens of people) and chased the pickup with horn blazing until the cops picked us both up.  It only took a second to clear that up but I did end up face down on the pavement for a second.......

That's a programmable choice on the Scorpio  [thumbsup]
