Mordor

fairly accurate description
I moved his "bed" from the garage where it has been sitting on top of the Chevelle for the past year into the house. Had to wipe some squirrels footprints off it and clean it up.
Poor sap doesn't have any idea how close his jokingly made description is [cheeky]
I hope I'm tall enough to ride the Nazguhl :D

you can try riding her but I'd not recommend it.
Wait until you see the pile of bones she has, each time we go to the Buffalo farm we bring her back shin bones.
Damnit...this is one trip I wish I could make...just to sit back, [drink] and [popcorn] and watch the shenanigans ensue.

One does not simply walk into Mordor....
Apparently you go with a Pick'em up and bikes

yes, I know this thread so far is useless without pics or video, of which we have quite a bit so far. We'll probably sort through some stuff this evening to post up.
Until then if anyone wishes to play along, the rough path I have planned for today is....
From Hawley, PA
Rt 6 to Rt 507 to Rt 191 to Rt 423 to Rt 940 to Rt 309 to Rt 209 to Rt 125 to Rt 61 to Centralia, PA

this is not a valid route as there are no 8's in it !!!...LOL ;)
We don't like 8's.
They taste bad.

Pft. That's good for you.
Builds strong bones and teeth.
ton of pictures are now uploaded to Photobucket, I'll edit videos and post to Youtube next.
Here's just one pic for now as bed calls

Ok, now onto a report of the days spent.....
ML arrived Wednesday late afternoon to much fanfare, after the cheering had died done and the local livestock sacrificed, he settled in.
We just unloaded him and went out in the car for a meal and a short drive about the area.
Shockingly my normally vicious towards strangers dog took to him right away, which made life considerably easier in the household.
We made plans for riding on Thursday the 4th....
Thursday's escapades would mainly be on video which I'll start editing and uploading to youtube this evening but some still shots do exist.
We shot down the a nearby road with large satellite dishes and then down TowPath Road and 590 to Lackawaxen.
Here is the man admiring himself in the parking lot next to the Roebling Bridge in Lackawaxen.

The bridge is certainly sturdy enough to hold the light traffic that crosses it.
(http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a295/giacco/GOPR0163_zpsab1adcd1.jpg) (http://s13.photobucket.com/user/giacco/media/GOPR0163_zpsab1adcd1.jpg.html)
Afterall it used to be filled with water and 50 ton barges of coal crossing it.
(http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a295/giacco/GOPR0146_zps1ac89174.jpg) (http://s13.photobucket.com/user/giacco/media/GOPR0146_zps1ac89174.jpg.html)
Here's why it was built this way, the designer went on to make a slightly more well known bridge, I've heard many times it is for sale but have never fell for buying it.
(http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a295/giacco/GOPR0166_zps8fee7f27.jpg) (http://s13.photobucket.com/user/giacco/media/GOPR0166_zps8fee7f27.jpg.html)
We left from there and took Masthope Plank Road to some other road that connects back to 590.
Took that to Garrity Road which turns into MushPaw Road, a fairly easy but fun dirt road.
A combination of roads after that led to River Road on the PA side of the Delaware across from Narrowsburg, NY.
We did 4 out 5 sections of that, the 5th is very rough and with all the rain I knew it would be a mud pit in spots.
Skipped on that as I'm still really bad offroad (total lack of confidence just like the first 2 years or so of street riding, hopefully it will "click" soon and change).
Took some nice windy road to 191 and then up to near Hancock, NY.
From there grabbed O&W Road.
Here we are taking a break, ready to head down it.

My KTM is not amused...

A few miles down O&W Road, we came across a steep rocky valley with a washout at the bottom.
There is embarrassing video of me having trouble getting around the washout.
Lack of traction plus barely being able to touch the ground conspires to make me sucky.
Doesn't help that the GoPro makes the spot not look steep. [laugh]
That will be one of the first videos I get up here.
We deviated off O&W a few miles after that as I knew it would be bad as it drops close to water and with the flooding lately, I can't see how it could have done well.
Made our way after that to Equinunk Creek Road and Upper Woods Road, the GoPros were dead by then but nothing crazy happened anyway.
Went back home after that.
Ate and rested.
Went up to the school for fireworks that evening.
July 4th was good.
Yesterday, we took the variety of roads previously listed to make our way to Centralia.
125 as usual was awesome and hopefully the videos will show that well.
We parked in the business district of Centralia.

Then onto the world renowned local highway/art gallery, like MOMA meets the autobahn.

The road is quite the marvel of engineering.

ML found a picture of himself. They foretold his coming.
(http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a295/giacco/P7050128_zps49de1e78.jpg) (http://s13.photobucket.com/user/giacco/media/P7050128_zps49de1e78.jpg.html)
We hung out there a bit, ML did sweet jumps and then we headed out.
Did silly things like explore some sort of abandoned coal strip mine.
FYI, coal dust is not the best thing for breathing in case you didn't know.
Long run back from there.
We're wiped now.
No riding today, just loading him up and sending him home a beaten and broken man.
160 miles the first day, probably close to half was not on pavement.
260+ the second day.

He's not actually all that vain. He's just trying to be surreptitious about his love of CanAm Spyders.
They're so cute!
But actually I hate them

O&W Road
I fail at the end
in my defense, I barely touch the ground, the bike stalls easily when it gets very hot (it was an easy 90 out) and off the line traction is very tough.....and I suck at this still [laugh]

I call him Fatboy not because of what he rode but because I felt like any less MPH passing him would have put me into orbit around him.
That sure was a fun trip. Wish I had seen this before. Been wanting to ride out to centralia.. I even looked at the map and tried to plan a route a couple of days ago..
Found someone that went inside and got pics of the coal breaker. Really cool
