Title: m620 7/8" to 1 1/8" fatbar conversion
Post by: kendallb on July 03, 2013, 02:02:37 PM
So (being a noobie) i figured the mounts on my stock 620 were simply removable and id just be able to pop my new rizers and handlebars on.

So not the case! the bottom mount on my stock triple is one unit and not removable. So i'd either have to shave down the mounts and drills holes or just get a new triple that fits a fatbar.

Was so excited to install, and had my dreams of riding with my new bar for the 4th shattered.

According to forums, and even called my local ducati dealer. I have to buy a new triple, and that would be the best way to go.

Anyone ever do this before, any other options? I know some stock triples from other bikes will fit mine.

Anyone know which ones in particular? is there a cheaper(the dealership quoted me at around 300 to buy a new triple), yet still safe way to do this that anyone has performed?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!! thanks   :)

There are adapters for putting fatbars onto existing 7/8" stuff like you've got.
Shops that deal dirtbike stuff should have 'em.
They raise the bar about 3/4".

Otherwise, most (not all) S2R800's have triples and clamps that will fit the fatbar.
All S4R have 'em.

Looking at adapter and universal kits now... thanks. didnt know they made those.

Wonder if it looks stupid though...

So wanted that low look and might just have to go with the new triple to get it..

Maybe craigslist has some s4r/s2r800's i can find.

The tapered/'fatbars' are lower than your 620 bars, so the look will still be as low or lower...

Double check the fork diameter, but I think they fit

Monsterparts sells the adapters, as well.

Still a bit of a rise, but...

Those are nice, better looking for sure than the generic ones I've got on my Gran Canyon.
