Title: Why I love my mechanic
Post by: Kabulpostie on July 07, 2013, 11:08:10 AM
A big shout out to Ray Dugan of Rathdrum ID. I had my brother drop my bike off to him a a while ago for valve check and general going over. The work has gone a bit beyond that now as I had Racetech send him a complete fork rebuild kit and asked him to send my wheels out for powder coating. Funny story there:I was talking with him on the phone about the service and  Ray was telling me how nice he thought my bike was ;D and I told him I liked it but couldn't stand the white wheels, he paused for a second and said "You know I was so busy busy looking at the rest of the bike I didn't even look at the wheels...you're right those things are gay! [laugh] I have to have the wheels off anyway you want to get them powder coated black?" YES Please:)
Long story short, he e-mailed me today responding to a question I had about replacing the stock clutch with a 48 tooth one. He just wanted to make sure I knew I was spending a lot of money and if I was aware of that. What a class guy! Most places I've worked with vehicle wise, or anything else for that matter are happy to let the charges build up and blind side you at the end.
One final note about why I will always try to bring my bikes to him in the future if possible; in passing he said something to the effect of " I love your bike......well really what people don't understand is that I fall  in love with every Ducati I see" How can you not love a guy like that?

+2. I've driven 200 miles to deliver a $5 clip cord before. Love my customers.
