Title: Indicator install
Post by: Chriskups on July 13, 2013, 02:01:19 AM
Someone very kindly walked into one of my rear indicators and now it no longer is the same >:(
I bought a pair of cheap LED's to throw on the back (the current ones are also LED and I think they are DP but not 100% sure!?)
Due to my electrical knowledge not extending much past changing a lightbulb my question is the current ones are 3W and the ones I bought are 1W... is that going to be a problem?

They will probably flash a little faster.

Bugger, so it would be advisable to get 3W replacements then??

The usual fix is to install resistors - they will slow down the flashing frequenzy.

It sounds strange that your previous ones are 3 watt if they are LED, but I guess it's possible.

Try the new and see how they work - maybe you already have resistors.

If the frequenzy is too fast - search 'resistors' in the 'tech' and/or 'acc & mods' section.

What they do depends on your bike. What model and year?
