Title: Zards Unplugged!
Post by: Skybarney on July 15, 2013, 03:34:09 AM
My oh my!  I took the DB killers out of my Evo before yesterdays ride.  It was easier than I thought to pull them out.  Removed four Allen screws, started bike and shot the inserts across garage.  It was astounding how much additional back pressure they created.  Needless to say the bike sounds deep and mean and runs so much better!

I have the DP map and a high flow filter and it was not doing what it was supposed to do with all that additional back pressure.  Now she runs extra nice with a lot of the low rpm lurch simply gone.

It was a joy to ride hearing the deep low tones and despite passing a few of California's finest speed traps I did not turn a head due to noise.

I am sooooo happy she sounds like a Duc!

Awesome!  I actually took my db killers out of the termis and cut them down to about an inch. Sounds perfect now.  Was just a touch too loud without them.

Did you make a video?  No pressure, jw.   ;D

If I made a video of the sound you would just get stuck spending more money.  They sound that damn good.  Although the cut down baffle tube is not a bad idea might make them a bit quieter.  With ear plugs I could barely hear them with t he DB killers, now I can hear them fine but not loud enough to wince over it.  ( :

Why didn't I think of that? Definitely easier than taking them off and poking at them with a broom stick.
