Sure they are Showa, not Marzocchi?

Anyway, your fork cap hex size is 17 or 19 mm and the 748 a.s.o. adjuster is 22, so if those numbers are correct (double check!) the answer is no.

Looking at their profile, they might hit the outer edge without connecting to the hex.

Because of all this we probably don't need to go into the details about your forks' lack of preload adjustability ;D

Those parts will not adjust preload on your forks.

As others have said, no, these won't adjust the preload for you. You need to swap out the entire top cap to one that does let you adjust the preload. The nut on the top of yours is what undoes the whole top cap of the fork.

Then again, yours are adjustable, you just add some washers or something else of an appropriate diameter after removing the top cap. Just not as elegant/fast as ones you can adjust externally and you always risk shooting yourself in the face with the fork cap if you forget to undo it carefully once you've added the preload (getting it back on with extra preload can also be almost as comical IME).

Thanks Speeddog and ELL.

Another seemingly dumb question: could I simply swap the caps with caps from say, SBK forks and be done?

SBK forks are 53mm at the top and bottom triple. Yours are 52mm at the top and 54mm at the bottom, assuming same wall thickness, no they are not swappable. Just do the SBK fork swap countless others have done on here if you want adjustability.

It's possible fork caps from a SS/M with Showa adjustable forks would fit on the top and work. Problem is, those ALWAYS come with the REST of the fork. ;)
