Title: SpeedyMoto 1100Evo Belt Covers Post by: oldndumb on July 27, 2013, 11:45:23 AM Installed yesterday and first ride with them this A.M. Excuse the water spots because I got caught in a rain shower.
Overall impression as regards appearance rates an A+. Ease of installation would also be an A+ except for the fact that the middle sprocket cover rear attach point will not allow attachment of the wiring fairlead which goes in that spot. It is item 20 in section 008 of the parts fische, and is circled red in a pic. I emailed them and received a very fast response saying that the only factory person who has installed one would get in touch with me on Monday. It would be good if they would modify that attach point, but if they chose not to for whatever reason, I have the equipment to do it myself. Others may not have the resources and might resort to Ty-Wrapping the fairlead to hold it in place. The red is not an exact match to the DucaBike pieces, but anodized bits from various manufacturers are rarely a true match. The camera exaggerated the difference with it actually being hardly noticeable on the bike. It is nice to see they finally came out. I was holding out for some but while waiting decided to just go with closed carbon. The lip on the cases that the stock cover sits against stands out (to me) like there is something missing. Maybe if you painted the black piece behind the front lower belt cover to match the case........
Although it would be pretty bad ass to machine the ridges down on the cases, get some cool hardware for the pulleys, and a clear window for the clutch, and a carbon fiber sub frame, and some lightweight wheels, and some lightweight rotors and a lightweight........ Oh wait, sorry what were we talking about? The bike came with a CF one, and I am not that much of a CF fan, so I made one. It started out as flat stock, then I beat the hell out of it until it submitted and then just milled the holes. Its okay, but I'm not totally happy with it so I'm planning on making another version. I found it to be a difficult shape to work with because the pipe makes some subtle bends in that area.
