Title: Painting a Wheel Post by: mbalmer on July 06, 2008, 03:08:19 PM I had to replace my front wheel. I have to either paint the front wheel black or the back wheel gold. I like either choice equally. I have never taken a tire off a mc wheel. i"m sure it's a little more complicated than a bicycle. How do I break the bead? Any advice on painting the wheel? Putting it back together?

I've seen your bike-no one will notice or care. Easier would be probably to paint the gold one black. Also, less cleaning. I can do this for you some time if you'd like. LOL [laugh] My husband says, "how rude to make that comment about such a 'pristine' motorcycle [moto]." That would be nice. I can bring the bike to you this time. Tell me what paint you would recommend (cheap, crummy spray or something special?) and where to meet you. I agree with black because I don't wash my bike. At all (okay, rarely). he's an engineer... can't figure the magic out cuz it's not on the directions. ;) [laugh] Title: Re: Painting a Wheel Post by: Popeye the Sailor on July 06, 2008, 08:02:20 PM Don't let someguy near paint... he's an engineer... can't figure the magic out cuz it's not on the directions. ;) What? Remember that time I told you my wonderful method of blocking the drizzle and wind with my body while I painted to get an even coat? If that's not proper technique I don't know what is [cheeky] Title: Re: Painting a Wheel Post by: Popeye the Sailor on July 06, 2008, 08:03:08 PM LOL [laugh] My husband says, "how rude to make that comment about such a 'pristine' motorcycle [moto]." I probably have a can already, and some masking tape.
