Sorry to keep bugging you guys. 2000 900ie. Rear turn signals don't work. Bulbs are fine. Connections seem to be good (removed rear light assembly bracket and checked). The front signals work, but blink quickly. I'm thinking that the relay and switch are fine. Any ideas on where the rear signals are grounded? I'm thinking bad ground.
Looking at the wiring at the rear, I don't think that the ground is the problem. It appears that the turn signals, brake/taillight, and license plate light share the same ground. The main 5 wire connector going to the rear has only one black wire. I believe the black wire is the ground, and there are separate black wires for all the different lights in the back. I am truely confused now.
hook your rears up to the front and see if they work
Exactly how? I just checked continuity from bulb socket to connector along frame and they check out.
Check that there's continuity from the -ve of the bulb all the way back to the battery.
Then do the same for each +ve back to the flasher relay.
Good call Raux. Got it working. Swapped front and rear and the fronts worked in the back. The contacts for the bulbs in the housings were shotty. Problem is, the bulbs don't fit as great as they could. I plan on going with the all-in-one led tail chop set up in the future, so hopefully this will last till then. Thanks again. Puddles
