Title: FS: Local Sale Only, 1999 M900S, $4500 Post by: CRASH! on August 07, 2013, 06:21:44 PM Hey, I'm back again.
My Monster finally runs again. I spent many months chasing one bad lead after another (mostly out of denial). Finally I trucked the bike up to Eric who proved to me that the problem was the tank coating flaking off and clogging fuel flow. So I then spent months trying to strip the tank so I could re-coat it. In the end I had limited success and I ruined the paint by spilling tank stripper on it. So I finally capitulated and took the tank to Nate for professional assistance. He took out the two handlebar dents, stripped and recoated and put on a stunning new paint job. So the good news is that this bike is no longer a project. It's all up to date, sharp looking and running strong. But it needs a new home. My wife got tired of me working on this bike (and a 2002 Triumph) for the better part of two years and "persuaded" me to give up both for a brand new bike with warranty. So to make good on my agreement, the Monster must go. Here are the details: 1999 Ducati Monster 900S, Red (the fastest color) Last year of Miguel Galluzzi’s original category creating Monster, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. 47,500 mi. Second owner. Owned since 2200 mi. Adult owned and ridden with a couple of low (or no) speed tipovers. 904CC air/oil cooled 2-valve 90 degree V-twin Big Valve head Mikuni CV carbs Fully adjustable Showa forks (retrofitted with RaceTech springs and Gold Valves) Aluminum double sided swingarm spooled for paddock stand Classically styled fork mounted bikini fairing Seat fairing (with BCM Performance decals) Ducati Performance analog tachometer kit with CF dash Ducati Performance CF shorty “beer tray” replacement LED tail light LED turn signals New Michelin Pilot Power tires New Yoyodyne clutch slave cylinder Newly rebuilt Mikuni vacuum fuel pump BCM (Bruce Meyers) lightened flywheel Ducati Performance lightweight aluminum clutch basket and plates Uprated Powerlett battery and starter cables Mikuni vacuum petcock replaced with manual valve Rebuilt heads. Work done by Eric Colbath and Bruce Meyers Freshly painted and coated tank by Nate (Frosty’s Finishes) Almost certainly a few other things that I can't remember right now. $4500 I'd much rather sell to a lister than some clown on Craig's List.
