Ditto. [thumbsup]

I'd have to find some dirt-oriented tires for it tho... what I really need is more like the Yamaha TW200.

I have my own little GROM that's gonna be punched out to 125 eventually.  I'll bet the Grom will be a great little "pit" bike for adults like me who refuse to grow up and race them at the dirt track.  they even have a "geezer" class where you must be at least 25 years old and 200 lbs.  I see a lot of potential for this and useless dollars spent  [Dolph]

There is already a company who makes a "mini monster" kit for the grom....totally sweet.

They were supposed to be in the US by the end of this month...
but the date has slipped another 19 days, according to my sources.
So it looks like mid next month.

Not that I'm interested in getting one or anything   ;)

I'll give a better report once I've had time to play with it a bit more
but ...it rides nice, tops out around 70 (downhill with a favorable wind  ;D) completely stock without any mods at all
(which means there is a good bit of potential there).
"the top speed from the Yuminashi 150cc light bore kit with the standard 125cc head with small valves and ports is 144Km/h (89.47Mph)"   [thumbsup]

I'll putt around this weekend and letcha' know what I think.   [thumbsup]

Rode back roads with a Grom rider.  Looks like fun. He was keeping up about 60mph.  Seems like nice bike but personally I would tire of it quickly.

It, for me, can't replace a full size bike,
but in my suburban neighborhood it works for now.

There are several "bike paths" I can take with the Grom that, with it's small size and quiet nature,
will let me slip by unnoticed, but a 900SS wouldn't really work too good for that.
I want to put a lighting kill switch in for when I'm offroad -to improve it's stealthyness a bit more.
(it is quieter than my Z50R!)

Buzzing to the corner-store for a sixpack or the grocery for burger buns just got fun again,
but as fun as it is the Grom is no replacement for a proper trackday-capable bike!   [thumbsup]

i'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's designed to be - a fun little kick around bike.  it'd be perfect if i could figure out how to get the girlfriend learn to ride one.

it looks a little too serious to me to be ripping down the bike path, but let us know how that works out - i feel like you need something with pedals for that...like the motoped.  which i want too.

Kind of like it can't "rip" on the street, (not an L-2 904CC Desmo -W- fins)

it ain't my 'tuned-up '89 KX250 in the dirt either...
But that is part of the fun!

Like you said, a kick around, doing what's familliar,
-but a twist on the downside.   ;)

<EDIT#2> Here is a pitch:  DUCATI, make the 269!

Single cylinder Desmo, 250-ish displacement,
"Grom" dimensional proportions.
(seat height/width (+/-) )
120/70-12 tires

MICRO-tARD?

GO!

RonR put the bug in my ear about putting the 9000 model on it,
but I got to thinking -its too heavy and big...

I do have a spare set of OEM 12" tires...

It would be a fun project...

Rode my friends Honda Grom today for about 20 miles.  Love this bike.  What a fun bike.  Definitely get tossed around when heavy wind or huge truck passes by.  Still it was fun riding it.  It was wet road conditions so I was bit worried about turns.  I hope to ride her in dry sunny conditions.
