Title: 1100 EVO with Titanium exhaust Post by: Randy@StradaFab on August 21, 2013, 01:36:50 PM Just got this yesterday. Only rode it a couple hundred miles but I really like it. Installed one of my Titanium cones today.

Title: Re: 1100 EVO with Titanium exhaust Post by: Randy@StradaFab on August 21, 2013, 03:07:07 PM Yeah, I think so. It came with a single Termi on it that I had never seen before. Looked a little funky.

also, i've said it before, but I'd really like to see a high shotgun s*r style exhaust - I think that might be the can for it. They could be made shorter... The actual production cans will actually be a little longer, probably a couple of inches so it can bolt to the passenger peg bracket. For those without the passenger bracket I could make a bracket from Ti tube that I think would look good. +1 on the high shotgun style. Wouldn't be that difficult to bring one pipe up and split into 2. Title: Re: 1100 EVO with Titanium exhaust Post by: Stormtrooper on August 22, 2013, 01:01:42 PM Yeah, I think so. I like your creation though but I too would want something shorter. I think you are going to do great things for the new gen monster with your fabrication skills! I'm picturing tubular Ti subframes and Ti trellis frames... Title: Re: 1100 EVO with Titanium exhaust Post by: Randy@StradaFab on August 22, 2013, 02:17:14 PM Here's a picture of the Termi that came on the bike. It did not sound good at all IMO. Popping on decel was really annoying, and it just made weird sounds. The Ti cone almost eliminated the popping on decel. The bike still needs something done with the ECU.
The Termi is 1.5 or 1.75 ID with about 2" of perf. The Ti cone is 2" ID with 6" of perf. Huge difference in the sound and the way the bike runs. I haven't weighed them but I believe the Ti cone is a little lighter also. The Termi is for sale if anyone is interested. I wouldnt imagine it would be hard to do the 1 into 2 higher up, but I hadn't seen a can that'd fit the bill. Have any pictures of that single Termi? Another member on here did something similar. [drool] [drool] [drool] the one i believe stromtrooper is talking about was actually a termi from a beemer s1000, and that project actually came out really cool +11tybillion for the ti subframe...Ill take mine powedercoated black. It's because of the larger diameter and short length. If you insert the DB killer it closes the diameter and eliminates all the popping. |
