How are the stock ones? Decent?
Plastic or metal? Worth replacing?
Do you remove the tank with fuel in, or out? Spill size, if former?
The stock ones are plastic (on mt '09 M1100s anyway).... I feel like they're gonna break every time I touch 'em... and so avoid doing so unless absolutely necessary. That said, they do seem to work fine and have never broken during (very careful) handling.
Worth replacing with metal ones? Maybe.... if anybody knows where we'd find metal ones... please chime in.
I remove the tank with fuel in (I just try to time it so as not to have the tank full). If I need battery access, I tend to leave the fuel lines connected and just swing the tank around.
one of the sponsors has the metal connectors. I purchase some before for someone in Germany. Can't remember which one right now.

I have not been able to find any, which is specifically stated to fit the 1100 EVO.
I see Ferracci has them for the 748/916 (and plastic), but not for the Monster.
cross reference original part numbers and see what other bikes use the 1100 evo connectors

They were pricey but have a huge selection and customer service was top notch.

How do you install them? Do you replace the original ones, or you run a line from the original ones, to the replacements, and always disconnect from there?
I installed on an '02 S4.
Ran both lines from the tank and hose-clamped 'em into place above the clutch cover.
The older monsters didn't come with qd's AFAIK so I had improvise.
I'll see if I can find a pic installed.
:edit: I've nothing close up but for the sake of reference, here is a shot from the side. I placed them directly between the clutch and frame.

Limited search shows that the 696/796/1100 appear to all use the same connectors.
From what I remember of the last one I had my hands on, it was the same connector as on the S*R plastic tanks.
But can't confirm, as the S*R parts catalogue shows the connector as an individual part, and the later ones have the connector with the hose.
