Title: Help Quieting M800 Exhaust Post by: THansenite on August 28, 2013, 06:35:10 AM I recently got a '04 Monster 800 and love it. The stock exhaust was a bit too quiet for my liking so I decided to core the exhaust. I installed a new 2" perforated baffle tube with fiberglass packing. Now the bike is obnoxiously loud. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can quiet down the exhaust a little bit? Drilling more/larger holes in the baffle? Welding in large diameter washers?

If they are, you might find Db-killers to put in there with a securing bolt through the end pipe and into the inserts (which often come with a welded nut for this purpose) I don't have a link for you, but they are out there. Google db killers ducati.... Title: Re: Help Quieting M800 Exhaust Post by: ducpainter on August 28, 2013, 01:14:29 PM As Lars said...db killers.
You can make them if you can weld and can't find what you need. Title: Re: Help Quieting M800 Exhaust Post by: SpikeC on August 28, 2013, 06:05:28 PM What is the inner diameter of the pipe exit?
Title: Re: Help Quieting M800 Exhaust Post by: THansenite on August 29, 2013, 06:15:30 AM Thanks guys! I should be able to weld up some of those db killers fairly easily. That will be my weekend project.
Spike, the inner baffle pipe is 2" ID and the actual exhaust diameter is stock and probably around 1 1/2" or so. |
