Title: Motomfg Central Stand/Lift
Post by: HotIce on September 09, 2013, 03:53:37 PM
A copy of the Bursig, looks awfully cool  [drool]
Does anyone have experience with it on a Monster (an 1100 EVO or others)?
Does the bushing where the pin with engage, put too much pull tension on the engine screw threads?

It requires a bushing to be installed, which replaces the bolt on the engine screw:

Yeah. Slickest lift I have seen  [thumbsup]
Word of notice. The engine bolt needs to be reversed in order for the bushing to be threaded into place.
Not exactly a plug&play deal.

Anyone know why nobody offers these things to lift the bike from the right side? Seems to me like most maintenance on a sport bike comes on the left side, so why not have that apparatus on the right?

it's probably safer handling the bike and lift on the kickstand side... but since the mounting bushing nut thing installs on the motor mount bolt, you could probably put it on the right side if you really wanted to

You couldn't use the Moto MFG or Bursig stand that way, but I'm considering building my own and I think if I do I'm going to build it for the right side.

why wouldn't it work? it's an adjustable plate with two points of contact, and the motor mount simply runs through the frame/block

I'm saying it wouldn't work with the way they have the stand's legs. You couldn't simply bolt their stand onto the other side.
