Help!
My 2012 696 will cold start just fine. But once I ride the bike for as little as 5 miles, turn it off, turn it on and let it cycle through like normal, all I hear is "click click click" and it won't turn over. Once I wait a few hours and the bike is cold again, it fires right up. I assumed it's a dead battery, even though I've only had it since May of 2012 so I replaced the battery, and the same issue.
It's very frustrating getting gas, so please help! Any assistance would be appreciated.

thanks, Raux. You've been plenty help, including in past issues and I really appreciate.
The guy from the related thread never really posted the exact solution. I PM'd the guy and hope to hear from him soon. Once I resolve this, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!
Fuel pump relay is my guess.
I have replied to DuCartney's private email. For the benefit of other members, I had a similar issue in my Monster 796 (2011 ), and Ducati Tech identified the problem as starter motor (not the battery or anything else). One solution is to remove the starter motor, clean the carbon deposits and refit. it should work. Otherwise, you may need to change the starter motor. I have not yet changed the motor. Once i do the same, I will report back.
