I got my bike back from the shop and I think they lost the nuts or whatever holds the battery terminal screws in place. They just drop right into the unthreaded holes on the battery. However, I looked at the parts fiche for my bike and I don't see any nut or anything for the terminal screws to screw into. The shop I'm forced to go to (only dealer here) is terrible so there's no use calling them. They'll want me to bring it in and pay $100 to look at it.
What the hell do the terminal screws screw in to? A picture would be awesome.
Sorry. I know this is stupid.

Small rectangular nuts.
If you don't screw the bolts back in before lifting out the battery, there's a good chance they'll fall out.

Damn, I knew it. They're gonna be a pregnant dog to find. Thanks for your help.
I'm guessing you didn't ride the bike back from the shop? If you did, you were lucky getting home.
Call them. They don't have to find the original nuts; they probably have several of them in their misc. junk drawer, or a few dead batteries to get them from.
I've actually been riding it for about a week since then. The starter was weak, which is what made me investigate.
I just ordered new bolts online for $7. My dealer is like an hour away. F that.
You can use anything to hold it there.
Pick up a 6mm bolt and nut. It's not as easy to use, but IIRC the width of the metal from the battery is right about 6-7mm and will hold a nut in place.
