that sounds like AMA SBK schedule.....I would be willing to bet that the FIM ENI WSBK schedule will not deviate from their 2 races on Sunday format.

My wife and I will be there....Schedule is already out that shows WSBK Race #1 on Saturday and WSBK Race #2 on Sunday.  I was at the Donington Park round earlier this year where they had both races on Sunday so I will get to see both schedules and determine which I like more.  I wish they were able to bring WSTK and WSS along with them to the US.

Blame the Laguna Seca track management for no WSBK support classes. They do the same thing to MotoGP...something to due with zoning and county regulations, etc.
I say track management though because they haven't argued the point to the county to get it changed.

so with race 1 on Saturday, how the hell are they going to do a free practice and then 3 sessions of QP for superpole?

the only good thing I see out of this is boosted ticket sales for 3 day and/or for Saturday due to race 1 being on Saturday....and that seems to be what Laguna may have been aiming for in helping boost the idea for them to keep the event since they are more than likely going to lose the GP race.

I think you nailed it.  From what I hear, Saturday tickets sales were miserable so the moved race 1 to Saturday to try to boost sales.

I'm surprised FIM approved it.

It really circumvents the one bike rule.

With this schedule a rider that trashes a bike in race one will most likely be able to ride in race two because the team will have close to 24 hours to repair it.

I'm surprised that even in AMA practice, a couple boys are lapping faster than the WSBK boys. Waiting for QP's to be over to really know how they stack up.

I'm upset that they moved it to split races as Sunday was my only day to go. A month or two ago they had it as both races on Sunday along with an AMA race or two. At 40 bucks advance tickets with racing the entire day, that would have been awesome.

Just got back to the hotel from Laguna Seca.  Saying that today was poorly attended by spectators would be an understatement.  MAYBE 10K people at the track.   Stands were 98% empty and the hills were even more bare.  Maybe more folks will show up tomorrow.  If not, at least there is no traffic getting in and out of the races.

This BS schedule simply will put off too many race fans.

This BS schedule simply will put off too many race fans.

Greg White interviewed Gill Cambell and they aired tidbits of it on the broadcast of the 2nd race....she said they did the schedule that way because of kids back in school and this, that, and the other and that she wanted to do something different. She said that she got a lot of comments ( ie:read complaints) from WSBK regular hardcore fans commenting about the change and just said that she was trying to be American and do something different as Americans do. ( roughly and loosely paraphrased) She came off as an idiot.
