I have a leaking gasket on the alternator cover. I see in the Haynes manual the use of a Ducati puller tool. Looking for advice on how to get around having the Ducati tool and any other advice on doing the work. I've found a gasket on the MotoWheels site. Or would it be better to use Yamabond? Title: Re: Alternator cover gasket Post by: ducpainter on September 28, 2013, 03:57:50 PM You can use either, but if you add the gasket, which is not used from the factory, you'll have to re-clearance the timing sensor.
I'd just clean things and re-seal with a sealer. You can make a simple puller with a piece of flat stock, a nut, a bolt, and some longer screws. The nut will need to be welded to the flat stock. |
