So Scott and I dropped by the Adolphus yesterday and found that we can have four covered car spaces set aside for a group of motorcyclists, I mean, Ducatisti.
This Friday night, starting around 6 pm there will be a get together of those who show up. Please come and have some drinks and food. Wear chaps if you got em!
[moto]
Please let me know if you can come!

sounds good to me
I'll do my best to be there [thumbsup]

I'm a strong maybe. Two of the girls have a show that night over in Deep Ellum, but I'm sure I could be persuaded to have a drink or two before I went home and got ready for it.
Sounds way too groovy for me.

i better not eat anything all day so that i can eat all the peanuts i want to...the waitress gets pissy if you don't throw the shells on the ground, btw.

Yeah. The parking spaces are just inside the parking garage attached to the Adolphus. If you are looking at the front entrance of the hotel, you take the side street on your left, and the entrance is about 25 yards down on the right.
I'll need to call today and confirm the parking. Will keep all posted.
Oh, by "confirm" I mean to let them know that we are talking about this Friday. They said to just let them know when. So I'll do that today.
Git along, Li'l Dogies [thumbsup]
:-\ Darn! I can't make this party because I'm throwing a Bon Voyage party for my sister who is leaving for six weeks in Central America to learn Espanol!
I was hoping to help Nordog track that barrel racin' cougar I mentioned previously - they do not look like the photo posted by Cher except for the claw length & razor sharpness. Look for BIG HAIR - no seriously, REALLY BIG HAIR - and the sparkle of rhinestones. Hint - if you can buy her a drink you merely have a bobcat - if she insists on buying your drinks ... then abandon your plans for the next day and probably the one after that !!! ;D
y'all have fun - take pictures !!
Dude, that's hilarious.
Okay ladies! I'm thirsty!

...I DO remember things about the chaps and waitresses... Peanuts? ..oh, yeah... that too ...I guess.
(actually, ...now that I think about it the "other Rich" brought up the peanuts. If I mentioned peanuts it doesn't count, because I was obviously drunk).

You guys should say Hi to my ex-wife while you're there. :P She's works (or at least I think she still does) at the Adolphus as some sort of group/convention/wedding?/etc. planner. If you see her act like you are with Ducati North America and you are planning to have a worldwide convention of Ducati dealers numbering in the 1000s at their hotel and that all the brass from Italy are coming and will be wanting all the most expensive suites. Oh, and don't forget to tell her about the catering... three meals a day for 2,000-3,000 people easy. Nothing but the finest food they got!! Tell her you need it all worked up by tomorrow or no deal!!! She deserves it! [evil]
I'm a maybe...need to see if my ankle will be ok by then. Pulled a tard move and had an accident with my Harley [bang] - I've found out they are quite heavy when laying on your leg...and I need to start doing squats and the sled if I want to try and kick it off with the other leg.
Is start time 6pm sharp? I usually work until 6 and by the time I get home and drop off the laptop and back downtown I'm looking at 45-60 minutes.

this is the front entrance to the adolphus...i say you should just roll up on your SC and pull out a big $10 bill and tell one of the staff to "keep an eye on it" for you...that would be the way to show up in style.
or, you can park in the "garage"...i walk past it every day four times...it smells bad and it's dark in there...
Yeah, c'mon Norris. Couldn't get the valets to let us line a few up in the main entrance? That'd be the stylin' way to go. ;D
i say do it...it only makes the adolphus look all that much cooler... what are they going to say? "hell no we don't want a bunch of sexy as hell italian motorcycles lined up out front...that would make us look much cooler than the particular look we're going for"
I say we all meet ahead of time, bring 10 ones a piece, roll up in formation, park where we want and toss a giant gangsta roll of ones at the valet as we walk into the bar. [thumbsup]

Well it seems that there is no way a S4R can keep up with a 1098s. I was shifting from 5th to 6th and missed my gear and for some reason the S4R said F-U when trying to recover from the missed gear. 140 mph and it didn't want to go back in gear until I coasted down to about 25 mph on the shoulder before it shifted down into 5th gear. Glad you made it home safely. The Monster seems to be fine. Anyone know anything about this? Is more likely to be rider error, clutch or tranny? I do know I just got my new shift linkage and lever in from Ducati Omaha yesterday. I've been ridding with a bent lever and linkage since Bon-wilder dropped it during a low speed u-turn.
140 mph yeah......ummm.....I mean 40 mph fat fingered it again, damn keyboards [thumbsup]
really good seeing everyone last night...sorry we didn't catch up to anyone later on. hopefully some people got to hang out at city tavern for a bit...they usually have a cool crowd there, and bands play pretty frequently. gotta watch out for that punching game, though....i was beat by a girl at it like a month ago :'(

Great choice Norris [thumbsup] And what a great time; I think we should make this a "regular" LSD hang-out. Thanks very much everyone for a nice relaxing evening "out." Y'all rock 8)
Oh and those are some really great pictures Donald! Good stuff [thumbsup]
8) Glad y'all like the snapshots !! Yes Fastwin that is definitely Javier's Ferrarri that Cat is standing by ! We were glad that CountP & Kevin and some folks gave us the heads up that the dining at the Rodeo was somewhat less than stellar so we went over to Javiers for some rockin' Carne Asada. There was a big black Monster in the parking lot too - so we took it to be a sign that were in the right place. Their salsa verde alone calls me in to that place periodically !
Cat & i had a great time at the Rodeo - she likes Ducati people - could it be that a Duc is getting closer to my grasp ? Definitely maybe - which as a disciple of the FastwinPointSystem of spousal interaction I take as a lot closer than her previous stance of definitely not ! [moto]
Javier's is my favorite restaurant on this planet. Period. Been going there for as long as they have been open, pushing 25 years I bet. Had just about every b-day dinner there, including the big five o shindig. When my brother and I worked together in the trucking company we would have our company Christmas dinner parties there. We would have 50-60 people there on a Saturday night during the busy Christmas season and they always took amazing care of us. All the dinners would hit the table within a couple of minutes of each other!! All prepared as ordered. Still blows me away to this day. And not that I am anything/anyone special I don't think I have been handed a valet ticket in 15 years! They just know me. Cracks me up thet they park my dirty pickup or old Surburban right up front next to the Porsches and Mercedes. [laugh] The same guys at the valet and inside the restaurant have worked there forever. That tells you something about how the place is run. Oh yeah... the food is freaking awesome! Hell, I should go there tonight! [thumbsup]

Cool thanks! Ill have to check it out.
Great pictures Donald!
PS - when leaving Commerce location do not, I repeat do not, take the first left at the highway. That unfortunately puts you on 75 South where the choice becomes 30 or 45. I of course take 30W, into the "low fuel light" trip from hell that had me circle the city to 35N, then to Woodall Rogers and back finally up 75N to the gas station I desperately needed. Lovely cruise, couldn't see diddley squat, 18 wheelers, buses, drunks, and numerous lane changes. Keerist, I ended up taking back roads after fueling up b/c I was exhausted.
Hope to see you all soon!
