It belonged to my great uncle. He was a journalist of some sort, and I guess a photographer as well? These are 2 of the many cameras my mom said he used to have at his house. My mother got them years ago from him before he died, and she has kept them boxed up since. She gave them to me for my birthday, cause she knows I have an interest in photography (but no knowledge [laugh])
the first is the one I want to know about. The cover has a logo that says OMO. The camera says Lubitel 2. It has a bunch of writing in Russian on the side. Everything works well...and it's in great shape....one little paint chip on the metal lense cover is all I've found.
The second is a Kodak Duaflex camera? It's alot less impressive looking (looks like a beginer-ish camera from the time period). It has no exposure settings or anything. I don't think it's as old as the other either. It needs the lense and viewing glass cleaned really well. My mom said she remembered her uncle letting her and my aunts and uncles take pictures with it when they were at his house when she was little.
If anyone knows anything about them, I'd love to learn. The Lubitel is really sweet looking, I'm wondering if it takes good pictures, or if they even make the film for it anymore.

thats a russian twin lens reflex (or TLR) camera....
it uses 120 roll film, which is the same film used in pro level film cameras such as the hasselblad system, pentax, rollei, etc...
be a good toy to tinker around with, ive got a ton of old cameras that i still use occasionally...
but dont expect much from that old glass, it was after all a low-end camera to begin with....
but the film is easy to come by in color, black and white, or transparency (slides)...
i use calumet photo for all my supplies....
enjoy tinkering...!!!
