Title: Another modern take on vintage full face helmets but it's spot on
Post by: Steve.In.Atlanta on October 17, 2013, 06:45:05 AM
The Ruby helmet is beautiful but the hell it it's $1200 worth of beautiful. When the Biltwell Gringo came out I thought that was pretty good except for the snap on face shield which would suck to have in in-town traffic.

Now Bell has come out with the Bullitt helmet. Vintage essence but with a face shield that opens. Even better, the face shield looks like it was made for this helmet and not just some slap on item from the parts bin. Not exactly what I'd wear on the Duc but would be a safe option for my project bike.

I'm sorry but I think that helmet is real dumb. Target market there is very rich people that want to feel like they're "vintage" and rocking the cafe racer look. For a lot less money you can get a better looking, DOT approved bubble-visor helmet that doesn't have frills like faux rivet snaps. I get what they were going for, but to price it at $400, is just insane.

All the more reason to get one.

"Oohh William my boy...."
When I was a kid I thought, "he's a funny man".
Know I know better.

Yeah, more space than retro.

I don't recognize that one.  I was thinking of "voyage to the prehistoric planet"
With the epic Russian robot.

Yup.  Didn't recognize it in Russian.  I saw solaris in the 70s at
The infamous Ken cinema in San Diego.

It was weird.  We got about half way through it when the
Lights came up and the projectionist tells us they don't have
The last reel (about 20 minutes).  So we watched this epic
3 hour sub titled Russian movie without the last 20 minutes.
That pretty much describes the Ken.

Wait a bit, and it will be discounted on motorcycle closeouts: http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/hot+deals/street+helmets+40-70+percent+off/f/brand-109 (http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/hot+deals/street+helmets+40-70+percent+off/f/brand-109)

I think it would be a pretty cool scooter helmet.
