Title: Fantastic weather for riding
Post by: SpikeC on October 19, 2013, 03:39:47 PM
Here in the PAC NorWet we usually have great riding weather in late September, butt this year it rained and stormed record amounts.
October has been another story, temps in the mid to upper 60's f., and the storms cleaned the roads. On Thursday my friend with the Guzzi Sport 1100 an I did about 120 miles up the spine of Portland's west hills and around through the outskirts of Vernonia, mostly twisty roads and not traffic! Not going to work on weekdays pays dividends! I got my new Pilot Power 3's nicely scrubbed in and got to know my new bike a bit better.
As it was a bit chilly up in the hills with some occational foggy bits I found out how well the Symtec grip heaters work with Lee Parks high tech deerskin gloves. The PCi glove liner works as advertised, if you are thinking of some cold weather improvements in the hand department I can recommend these without reservation!
 Happy riding guys!

Funny, storms usually turn the roads to shit around here. Washing in all kinds of debris.

Yeah I agree the weather has been fantastic.  The mornings have been a little rough.  Its been in the 30's with fog which is less than ideal for someone with no heated gear...  The afternoon ride home has been a "whole-nother" experience though  ;D

It was for a while.  Now even though the weatherman keeps talking about this high pressure ridge, what we have on the road is fog that never lifts.  Anybody here enjoy riding in fog?  Kind of trippy.  Kind of dangerous.
