Title: Trip to Julian, CA from Yuma on S2 and back on S1 Post by: Kabulpostie on October 20, 2013, 07:52:18 AM Here are some pics from a ~350 mile ride I took yesterday from Yuma to Julian, CA and back. Route was I-8 to S2 to 79 to Julian and then S1 (Sunshine HWY) back to I-8 to Yuma.
Windmills by Ocotillo, CA Sorry about the cell phone pics, always frustrated by how hard it is to to take landscape pics that show the beauty accurately. Then I ran into a couple of the most crooked CHP officers ever and decided to stay out of San Diego County. One heck of a story but I think it may cross a line telling it on this forum. Maybe I will tell the story on the "other" site.
Hey DP can I tell the story? Title: Re: Trip to Julian, CA from Yuma on S2 and back on S1 Post by: red baron on October 20, 2013, 01:29:04 PM [popcorn] c'mon dp.... ;D
Just rode Sunrise, and 79 today. Perfect weather, albeit, lots of traffic, I just took it at a slow pace and enjoyed it. Title: Re: Trip to Julian, CA from Yuma on S2 and back on S1 Post by: Kabulpostie on October 20, 2013, 05:01:30 PM Yeah, I took it pretty slow yesterday as well. A couple of weeks ago I passed 3 cars on a double yellow on a straight stretch, they were going going about 10 MPH below the speed limit and I was too impatient to wait for the passing zone [evil] Unfortunately for me car number two was [leo] in a low pro wrangler, tough to talk my way out of that one, I'm sure it will be pricey [bang]
Been taking easy as a result:) Still had a fantastic time. What a beautiful area! Title: Re: Trip to Julian, CA from Yuma on S2 and back on S1 Post by: Privateer on October 20, 2013, 09:24:59 PM love riding out there, but never take the 'back' way like that. looks interesting.

I'd appreciate it if you stopped crapping in San Diego threads with that story. <\mod> Title: Re: Trip to Julian, CA from Yuma on S2 and back on S1 Post by: Skybarney on October 21, 2013, 07:23:11 AM That's why I asked. ;) It is one heck of a story, sadly a very true story. I will go post it over on the other site for anyone that wants to read it.
