When I was new rider, I had no idea about chain maintenance at all. As I was exiting a highway and while on ramp, I feel no power and luckily was able to pull over. Found my chain had come off n was hanging on the swing arm. Had to tow her and that's when I learned about lubing chain. He locked up the rear and when he let off the rear brake it threw his ass to the ground. Title: Re: Why you need you keep your chain adjusted Post by: HotIce on October 21, 2013, 06:11:34 PM It was. Watch the slo mo... the chain came off before the highside, and could have caused it if the links were grabbing at the swingarm and the sprocket/carrier assembly.Title: Re: Why you need you keep your chain adjusted Post by: SDRider on October 21, 2013, 07:19:55 PM Watch the slo mo... the chain came off before the highside, and could have caused it if the links were grabbing at the swingarm and the sprocket/carrier assembly. I'm not sure how. It was completely off the rear sprocket before the lockup and didn't appear to be moving at all and you can see the brake light come on way before the lock and slide. Title: Re: Why you need you keep your chain adjusted Post by: Dirty Duc on October 21, 2013, 07:51:31 PM I should have said "in conjunction with rear brake"
