Title: kickstand switch wires broken.
Post by: tbyte on October 25, 2013, 01:11:44 PM
I stupidly managed to break the wires right at the plug that plugs into kickstand.  I have read other posts where I can solder the two wires together to bypass.  But there are three wires: black, green and greenwhite.  I am guessing the black is a ground so I ought solder other two?  Secondly, where can I find a replacement plug?  I am sure it will be mangled beyond recognition by the time I get it out.

Thanks,

GS

Just leave the plug, trim the wires on it to the base and then remove the wiring that goes to it from the harness.
Its what I did. I have a '99 750.
It only took one time of riding off with my stand still down to teach me to put it up, lol!

No luck but I did like the unplug and play aspect of it.  Is there a part# for this item?  I could not find it in parts catalog.

Found it, my mistake.

I ended up jumping 2-3 and taped it up.  I am sure I can live with it.

When mine broke, I "fixed" using this method here.

If I remember correctly to just bypass, you are right, green to green/white. But that said I wouldn't trust it and I would connect the wires temporarily and test starting it up.
