Title: 2004 Monster 800 i.e. Seat Lock
Post by: monstermike on October 29, 2013, 12:54:21 PM
I recently purchased a new Corbin seat for my bike. Fits great, however it seems the pin on the underside of the seat doesn't lock. Fits in the hole no problem and aligned correctly. Possible to advise on how to adjust the locking mechanism. When I turn the key in the lock it very loose. Seems spring is shot or cable needs to be tightened. Please advise. Thanks

Mike

Put a washer under the latch on each side where the bolt attaches it to the frame.

They're all like that.

Thank you I have done that. It locks in place but after I ride and hit some bumps it pops out. Seems the lock cable needs adjusting cause it's not staying in the lock position. How can I adjust or do I need a new cable? Thanks

I think you just need to add another washer, or change to thicker single washers. It sounds like the peg isn't fully locking in to the latch.
