Title: WDW 2014 Post by: DucDucGoos on November 08, 2013, 01:26:33 PM Is anyone planning on going?
I'm really wanting to make this one!!! I told Jeff I need a raise, and he laughed at me :( But I think it would be great to go, and was curious who else was planning it Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: stopintime on November 08, 2013, 01:52:14 PM Of course [Dolph]
Probably a few Americans, certainly some from Australia (Jukie & Betty?), usually Chris DesmoWorld, my dear British friends and so on... Why don't you get Jeff to go as well? Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: HotIce on November 08, 2013, 02:22:04 PM So close, so far :'(
Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: koko64 on November 08, 2013, 02:39:52 PM Go on Jeff, give the pretty lady a raise ;D Or at least Christmas bonus = trip to WDW.
Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: DucDucGoos on November 08, 2013, 06:37:20 PM Go on Jeff, give the pretty lady a raise ;D Or at least Christmas bonus = trip to WDW. totally agreed on that.. I hope he sees that ;) lolI'm not sure if Jeff would go or not for this one.. I was trying to say we need a company trip tho! If not I'll be going by myself Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Betty on November 08, 2013, 10:02:03 PM Jukie & Betty? Would love to but personal circumstances won't allow it, sorry. Enjoy yourself mate and keep cool. Probably a few Americans, certainly some from Australia, usually Chris DesmoWorld, my dear British friends and so on... As far as the DMFers go ... well I think we all know the Aussies have the least mental stability, the Europeans are very hospitable and friendly ... and the Americans are a bit weird - but I wouldn't let that put you off Tami - you're probably used to them [cheeky] ;D Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Stabel1 on November 09, 2013, 09:16:17 AM I will go...and I am looking forward to it... Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Betty on November 09, 2013, 01:40:48 PM I will toss sounding stupid to the wind here; What is WDW? World Ducati Week ... which, incidentally, is held in only one place in the world and doesn't go for a week. Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: geoffduc on November 09, 2013, 02:10:20 PM I will toss sounding stupid to the wind here; What is WDW? It's an event which is held every two or three years in Italy at the Misano race circuit and if at all possible should be attended at least once by all ducatisti, its known as the "Party on the Red Planet", and believe me it is... [bow_down] I've been lucky enough to have attended three times and have made some wonderful friends including Julie and Mark, (Jukie & Betty), Lars (Stopintime),and Mario (Uncle MoFo) from this forum plus many more from all around the world, people that I would never have meet if it wasn't for WDW, so there you have it Skybarney get your arse into gear and we'll look forward to meeting up in 2014... [thumbsup] Geoff... [coffee] Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: stopintime on November 09, 2013, 03:16:10 PM I will toss sounding stupid to the wind here; What is WDW? Yes! Actually, after attending the last two WDWs, it wouldn't be too hard to say no. Been there, done that, got the Tshirt. I'm going because I want to ride the Alps/Dolomites on the way there, get another chance to ride my bike at a MotoGP track and to meet friends. For all those who haven't been there - it should be on the bucket list. http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=64052.msg1181236#msg1181236 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=64052.msg1181236#msg1181236) Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: justinrhenry on November 10, 2013, 07:54:49 AM (http://global.fncstatic.com/static/managed/img/fn2/travel/waltdisneyworld.jpg)

I've watched it twice but don't seem to see a certain Norwegian watching (drooling) at the bikini bike wash... ;) ;) Geoff... [thumbsup] I've watched it twice but don't seem to see a certain Norwegian watching (drooling) at the bikini bike wash... ;) ;) Geoff... [coffee] No, no ... that wasn't drool - he is far too composed for that. It was just a small bead of sweat ... although he is not accustomed to 40+deg. heat ... he is far too polite to sweat profusely in the presence of women. Oh and for those playing along at home ... that is a real 40deg. not an American 40deg. Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Uncle Mofo on November 13, 2013, 09:59:17 PM I went in 2010 after the World Presidents Meeting. WOW
If you are a club president the event is about 9 to 10 days. Planning on doing it again Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: duccarlos on November 14, 2013, 10:33:49 AM Hanging out with Geoff and Mario for 10 days would require a liver transplant afterwards.
Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Uncle Mofo on November 14, 2013, 10:54:12 AM Oh no I barely drink alcoholic beverages anymore. My Norwegian roommate at the WPM closed the bars every night then proceeded to clean out the mini bar in our room [shot]
Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: stopintime on December 05, 2013, 11:23:26 AM Dates are official [thumbsup]
July 18. - 20. Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: geoffduc on December 05, 2013, 11:44:19 AM Yes the dates are official BUT it should have been in early June as its alot cooler at that time of year plus it would have been possible to take in the MotoGP at Mugello which should be on every race fans bucket list as its an awesome venue... [bow_down]
Geoff... [coffee] Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: stopintime on December 05, 2013, 12:48:25 PM 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 was 35-42 degrees Celsius in June. I can't see how, on average, July can be much worse - other than higher humidity.
June means a second vacation with two expensive weeks off from work for me (my usual vacation is late July), but the ferry/train/hotels are less expensive. Throughout July prices rise and roads become more crowded, but all in all I'm not scared. [Dolph] Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: DucDucGoos on December 05, 2013, 02:56:32 PM I'm looking for somewhere to fly into and have someone to meet up with so I have a companion :)
Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: HotIce on December 06, 2013, 07:57:18 AM Dates are official [thumbsup] Super! [thumbsup]July 18. - 20. Will almost certainly fit with my vacation this year. Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: Ill_Monstruo on December 06, 2013, 08:04:25 AM That's awesome! I would love to go to something like that... I'll have to start planning for the future and go. My job doesn't let me take vacation in the spring/summer (work at a motorcycle dealer) so this coming year would be out of the question. Unless i quit my job.. which would just be irresponsible lol. ;D

Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: GK on March 22, 2014, 10:21:14 PM WDW added to my bucket list. Should fit in nicely with a motorcycle tour of Tuscany. Perhaps we could do it together bro! [beer] Tuscany..... sometimes bro I reckon you're more Italian than Greek Cypriot! LOL! GK Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: geoffduc on March 23, 2014, 07:50:34 AM If you intend to tour Tuscany make sure that your trip coincides with the MotoGP at Mugello, it's one of the best tracks for spectators that I've been to plus I know a great hotel a few miles on a nice quiet back road from the circuit which even has a secure garage for parking your bikes.
Geoff... [coffee] Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: koko64 on March 25, 2014, 01:11:54 PM Thanks Geoff, good advice.
It's a long way from here, so since you've paid the airfare, why include Mugello?[thumbsup] I 'spose I throw in a tour of the Borgo Panigale factory too. I'm told of a guy here who leads and supplies all the bikes for the Tuscany tour. All the bikes are Ducatis. He leads the tour with the run vehicle bringing up the rear, so no worries with luggage. Apparently, he knows the good roads and you stay at wineries each night eating the local cuisine and drinking the local wine in great accommodation. I would take my wife pillion. Heaven on a stick! I'll add that to the bucket list. Title: Re: WDW 2014 Post by: geoffduc on April 13, 2014, 01:04:15 AM Times slipping by fast so come on guys and gals lets be having a list of forum members who are making the journey to this years WDW so that we can hopefully meet up as we've done in previous years... Worth the price of admission just to see the big fella running rings around Superbike wannabes with his little Monster.
