Title: Service Bulletin Auto Calls
Post by: nkryptit on July 08, 2008, 11:03:49 AM
Alright Venture Brothers and Venture Sisters, it's time to solve a mystery.  I've gotten a few Automated calls from blocked numbers the last few days, but was unable to answer them.  By the time my voice mail picks up, the computer is already halfway done with it's message, so I haven't heard who it's from, only that it concerns "your vehicle".  Have any other 696 owners gotten a call like this, maybe for this coil issue?

I've been getting automated calls for the last month trying to sell me an extended warranty. The monster is a 97, the Jeep is an 89 and not even close to stock with about 250,000 miles the Porsche is a 75 and also very modified. There's no way any "real" extended warranty company would even come close to offering me a policy. I think its just some more scammers. A service bulletin will usually arrive by mail.

People all over the country are getting automated calls which lead into a sales pitch for extended warranty policies for whatever vehicle you might have.  They start out with some nonsense about your existing vehicle warranty being due to expire or some such blather, and then once they get you on the hook they reel you in.  It's really a scam so just ignore the calls.

the same company tried calling me on my cell, and i only ever heard part of the message...
i figured if it were a real recall, info would come in the mail, or they'd call the home phone.
they eventually stopped calling  :-\

I get them on my work cell-phone all the time.
I press "1" to get the salesperson...
...and play like I'm a hard of hearing old man who desperately wants to extend the warranty on is truck...

My truck is a 1/2 ton Chevy... 1953 model!  ...but I try to hold them on the line as long as possible.  [evil]

I've been getting the extended warranty stuff about my truck.  Since I can't figure out why the evap system keeps turning on the check engine light, I should have bought one & made them sort it out ~

Thanks everybody, I'm going to assume since they blocked the number that it isn't anything important.

I've been getting them too...the number shows up on my cell phone, so I've been letting it go when I see it. I tried putting my number on the do not call list, but I still seem to be getting them

If you try calling them back it comes up as a out of service number or something like that.

update: I received the call today 4 times, and my wife got it 2. All from different numbers, but it's always the same recording.

There has to be someway to get them to leave you alone...
