Just got this thing put on.  It's so nice and shiny, definitely better than that ugly nut, buuuuut i think i may hit it with some 1000 grit and paint it black....what do you think?

I think you should post a picture showing the other side too.

What material is it made from?  Aluminium?  If so, you could consider having it black anodised....

Anodize it black.  Personally I like the open look of the stock wheel and I have zero sliders on my bike. 

The money I saved in sliders on my bike I spent on better insurance and covered all the accessories.  If she goes down I won't want to fix it, just replace it.

I think the left side blends nicely but I may have the right right cap anodized.  Anyone/company I should consider for anodizing?

I think that the silver color adds a nice accent to the right side!

 I had a garage tip over and my front axle sliders and frame sliders saved my bike from major damage, they are definitely are worth the install.  I use a rear stand all the time so no rear slider for me.

Rear stand rules it out for me too though.

Works wonders for cleaning wheels,chain & sprocket.

I have been meaning to get one of those rollers for the front wheel.  My garage tip over did not hit the front axle.  Although it did land on a foam mat so maybe it did and I just can't tell.

For $35 bux it definitely works for me. The pit bulls are nice but they aren't $35. Haha

It's cute and would work well as a set of 'rollers' for some MTB training, but it ain't no motorcycle stand.  ;)

Paint the sprocket carrier and leave the Rizoma bits silver.

That's a good idea.  Should I just rattle can it?   I guess I could have it powder coated black when they ceramic coat my headers.

Powder coat will last longer than rattle can.

I wouldn't anodize/paint/powdercoat. Rizoma brushed billet is too damn nice for that. Axle sliders are one of the things I'm glad I went the Chinese eBay route.

Good point, although sadly, I bought this more for looks because I hated the way that ugly nut looked. I wanted to cover it and not have a slider sticking way out. I'm the 1% of people who bought an axle slider for looks and not protection.  [laugh]

I kind of like the way the silver looks. I love the blacking out look, but as I started having a few misc parts that were silver on my bike, it began to grow on me to show some contrast. The all black does look sleek, but then you'd have to do the carrier on the other side too ;) Or get one of these:

And my two cents, anodizing in the US is usually crap, and seems to fade rather quickly. I've noticed through all the products, the ones that come from Italy (Rizoma, DucaBike and even the UK's Oberon) has held up amazingly!! I have stuff on my bike that's been in the sun for 3 years and still black! Powdercoating is nice, but does make it slightly thicker. Paint might chip off, and you'd hate to have a look like that on a nice bike! :)

Well I took the caps to the shop where they are ceramic coating my header pipes.  They are going to powder-coat the caps gloss black.  Hopefully they turn out good!  Look what else I got today.  ;D
