Title: Difference Between S4R and S4RS Oil Cooler
Post by: TitanMonsterS4R on December 09, 2013, 02:16:57 PM
Does anyone know whether an S4RS oil cooler will fit on an S4R? The new exhaust on my S4R and the oil cooler return mount point are at war. The simple fix would be the get an S4RS oil cooler since the oil cooler lines are all on the right side of the cooler opposed to one on each side like the S4R. Also the S4R has a banjo fitting right above the oil return line but I'm not sure what it's for and it isn't present on the S4RS oil cooler.

Banjo bolt fitting on S4R cooler is to supply oil to the cylinder heads.
You would need to replicate that somehow when you fitted the S4RS cooler.

S4RS hoses should be a direct bolt-up to the fittings on your engine now.

Just going to have the exhaust pulled off and rewelded to take the return oil line into account. At least I got to stare at it on my bike for a while and even ride it here and there....

Relocate the thigh heat cover as well?

The S4RS cooler mount tabs are off center.
Can be relocated - don't how hard that is.

However, not an issue if you have the exhaust modified.
