Title: Australia's own badge.
Post by: ungeheuer on December 11, 2013, 12:30:44 PM

Australia's own Holden is dead.

GM in Detroit held out their hand for yet more taxpayers millions knowing that no government wants to be responsible for the the loss of the only "Australian" car company.  Another large foreign company seeking to continue their cosy private profit, public loss deal.

No more of my taxes for you GM.  Mind the door doesn't hit you on the arse  :P.

The Australian car company.  It always was a myth.

Nothing left now but Korean Daewoos and Thai Chevys.....  hiding under Australia's own badge.

All GM vehicles sold here are badged under the Holden brand.

GM intend to continue the Holden name in the hope we don't notice.

Yup.  Lame stuff with a Holden badge.  Hopefully people see thru the Australian badge and see that there's no reason to buy any of it over any other Korean car.

Did GM send you what's left of the Saturns and Hummmers? ;)

We did get a nice Aussie GM kind of car in the Pontiac GTO. Certainly not the Goat of old days but still a fine V8 rear wheel drive car with nice styling. They're gone with Pontiac but I still see them around. I like(d) them. [thumbsup]

You still (for now) get the Australian-built Holden Commodore.

I met a guy that had a souped up Commodore over there.  It was pretty quick!  The Holden Utes were interesting to see, kinda a modern day El Camino.

I wish get got the Nissan Patrol in the States.

This cynical spin-shit really pisses me off [puke] [puke] >:(.

We're not that make the beast with two backsing stupid GM  :P.

You're in business to make a quid and you've decided a better return can be made by no longer building here.  Fine, that's business.  But quit with the "here for Australia" crap will ya?

You're just another foreign car company.  The Holden badge... no longer means anything at all.

But they really, really love you, Unge.  :-*

They're here for you.
Well.... actually they're *there* for you.

Just a bit too shy to say they want your money, that's all.
