Title: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Post by: Rudemouthsky on December 11, 2013, 03:50:09 PM Thought I'd have the use of a buddies garage for my tear-down but that's a no-go...stuck in a crappy apt until we move this spring. I made the mistake of already asking and getting a HELL NO instead of just doing it and asking for forgiveness later...this is killing me, 23 degrees outside with 3 inches of ice/snow and there's nothing I want more than to start tearing into my bike to have it ready by spring. I'm gonna try begging, then I'll just do it if that doesn't work....I'm a bit scared, haha [drink] Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Post by: ungeheuer on December 11, 2013, 04:31:49 PM First rule of Husbandry:
Never ask any question unless you're absolutely certain you'll get the correct answer. And now that you broke that rule..... when you go ahead and do it anyway...... you can no longer pretend you didnt think she'd mind [bang] Good luck [thumbsup] [popcorn] Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. A guy I knew used to quit with his GF right before her BDay, to get back together after a couple of weeks, to avoid spending money on presents.I'm gonna try begging, then I'll just do it if that doesn't work....I'm a bit scared, haha [drink] You can try that route ;D Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. I second this motion, try and find a place that you can rent on a month-to-month basis. My dad and I split a 30x20 storage unit for $70 per month. I would think you could find a little single-car unit for pretty reasonable. Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Or in the OP's case, his forum name says it all. Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Maybe quote a price high enough to make her brilliantly suggest saving money by doing it at home instead 8) Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room.. Post by: Rudemouthsky on December 13, 2013, 02:00:24 AM I had thought about renting a climate controlled storage unit. Still a big p.i.t.a that way, no running water or drains so cleaning parts would be difficult, would likely need to run home constantly for a miscellaneous tool here and there....worrying about if the landlord will take issue with what I'm doing in there bother me, and so forth.
I live in a smelly, filthy city that has literally uninhabitable weather conditions 6 months out of the year...da fuq am I thinking... Post by: ducatiz on December 16, 2013, 05:53:18 AM It really depends on your wife, man.
Some are far more averse to motor stuff in the house. I know mine is. When we were in NYC, I once received a motor on a pallet -- in our apartment. It was only in the house for 2 days and then I moved it to the workshop, but wow, she was pissssssed. Title: Re: Thinking about surprising my wife...with a dissassembled MC in the living room..
