Title: "FUEL" error light
Post by: Mhanis on December 27, 2013, 01:58:22 PM
The last two times I have started my bike ('09 1100, 28,000miles) my CEL has come on. When I toggle to the error code part of the display it says "FUEL". On both occasions the bike started normally. Upon seeing the error code I turned the bike off and restarted it and the code did not return. Everything seems to be normal besides that.

Those two occasions it has been cold outside (low to mid 30's) but probably in the 40's in my garage where the bike is kept.

Thoughts?

Mark

'FUEL' means something is wrong with your low level sensor (maybe just the wiring?)

Says so in your 'owner's manual'  [cheeky]

Even though the CEL is extinguishing, the error is probably stored in memory and can be pulled up via DDA. Since it has come back twice, most likely the bike has not gone into self repair mode, and the light will come back.........or not. A short visit to a dealer for a read out would provide the answer.
