I initially ran my '98 M750 with a set of '01 M900 forks with the standard dual-rate springs.
I'm about 180 lbs no gear.
Kinda OK for general use, but if I had it leaned over in a corner it didn't feel very good, and hit a bump and it'd feel all wrong.

Switched to OEM S4Rt springs, AFAIK ~0.86 rate, and oil at 130mm, much much better.

Thanks, I'll give that a read, I've got the non-adjustable Marzoochis on my '99 M750.  It's currently got Hyperpro springs in it and heavier oil (15wt I think).  It's *ok* but hard cornering gives me a feeling of organized chaos, with vague feedback from the road.
