So as the title says my S2R was sounding funny and I made a plea for help and received a lot of much welcomed and needed advice. I haven't had time to try anything, and when I had a friend over I started the bike to see if he could hear the sound I thought I heard. I felt something on my leg (haven't worn shorts in a long time) and upon inspection, I found this:

Pretty freaking obvious so yeah I feel sharp as a bag of wet socks [bang]
Next question is: Is some some sort of unicorn sized plug that goes in the exaust tube or can I pick it up at a hardware store? It's a termi full system if that matters
Thanks for the help guys and gals come through Yuma and get free beer for reading my publicly posted dumbassery
Not likely a hardware store item.

Thanks, I just found that as well, I'm guessing it is the large lambda sensor plug I'm looking for?
Afaik all lambda/O2 sensors are the same thread and size. You can probably pick up a plug from the local performance center for cars...
large lambda sensors are m18 x 1.5. the little ones on the mts 1200 and diavel are m12 x 1.25 and the small plug most have for the mixture take off is 1/8 BSP/gas.
Thanks for the help folks. I ordered the part about 2 hours before I received some great information from a friend of mind. He is an Aprilla rider, but is tolerated by the Desmo Southwest Club ;D and asked the president of the club about the issue. They had a member that lost the same plug and found that an oil plug for a car fit perfectly. So I was able to pick up a m18 x 1.5 for $3 and will return the $6 plus SH plug when I get it.
Nice to know so many people who have weird and wonderful knowledge. I'm not very mechanical but am learning a lot about it through this forum. Today I plan on changing chain and sprockets, relocating my regulator rectifier and may try and balance throttle bodies just for fun.
Same thing happened on my S2R, luckily I still had the stock exhaust and used one out of there
