Title: Mounted my heat controller Post by: Skybarney on February 02, 2014, 11:35:19 AM It took a minute but I finally found the perfect place for my heat controller. I can easily adjust it with thick gloves and it never leaves the bike.

That is the perfect spot but I wouldn't be able to keep my eyes off that zip tie! Def the best spot though for sure.
Title: Re: Mounted my heat controller Post by: Skybarney on February 02, 2014, 11:52:17 AM Zip tie is temporary. Gonna make something to go under the clamp that I can fix the controller to. Due to the shape of the bottom of the clamp a zip tie was the best thing going to keep it from being easily stolen off the bike. It was also easy as the tank was in the way of easily working with it.
I am gonna put it back together Monday. Hopefully without a zip tie. Title: Re: Mounted my heat controller Post by: SpikeC on February 02, 2014, 12:44:53 PM Sticky back Velcro?
Title: Re: Mounted my heat controller Post by: Skybarney on February 02, 2014, 01:02:57 PM Tried the sticky back Velcro. You can't see it but due to the shape of the bottom of the clamp it did not work well (wobbly). As it is I had to place some rubber fuel line up under there to get it to sit right.
I am thinking of pulling it off and heading over to TAP plastics. I think I can make a neat bracket that will be invisible and still stop theft. I have lost a total of three very nice helmets right off my bike due to theft. The first one was just the D-Ring/chinstrap locked to the bike. The next two were locked through chin bars with a big thick and useless Krypto cable. Having the $100.00 remote control may just be enough temptation for a passing thief. |
