Title: 2014 WSBK season stuff
Post by: fastwin on February 03, 2014, 12:11:13 PM
Only about three weeks and counting! [popcorn]

I'm still butt hurt over not being able to watch the 2013 sbk and ss races on TV. Does anyone know if those races will once again be on beIN Sports? Do they actually show anything but soccer? Lastly, does anyone know what direcTV channel beIN Sports is on... if it's there at all on direcTV? I really don't feel like subscribing to a big sports package that has stuff I won't watch just to see the scooter races and I'm irked that direcTV bumped their rates again for starters. Some helpful WSBK TV watch tips would be appreciated.

What's everyones pulse on the 2014 Duc SBK team? Any better than last years showing... if you can call it that? Digging Davies being there but not sure if the bikes are up to the task.

LOVED Sykes and Kawi taking the crown last year. Everyone thought he was toast after his time with Yammyhammer/Spies but I guess he shut them up the last couple of seasons. I don't see a drop in performance or results from him or the green meanies. [thumbsup] [popcorn] [Dolph]

Talk amongst yourselves...

The Duc is still underpowered. The Kawis look like they'll be on top again since the Beemer is no longer factory supported and the Apes lost Gigi.

BeIN will be showing the races again. No word that I've seen on live streaming, but I would guess so.

WSBK will also be offering a subscription to WSBK this season, comparable to the MotoGP Season Pass. I think this is the best bet, as it will likely be cheaper than paying to get BeIN in your cable package, and the coverage will be a lot better.

The Ducs have good, young riders this season, and factory support. We'll see if that helps their performance, or if Ducati is going to suck again, waiting until the rules next season turn WSBK into Superstock...where the Duc has been very competitive.

Fastwin,

I have BeIn sports so come over to the house and watch the races.  I usually get up and watch them live (when BeIn airs them live).  You are old so I am sure you are up at 5AM already  ;D.

I think my local cable separates the sports packages that show MotoGP & beIn sports. It's not worth the loss of the other channels to get the MotoGP pass but I think it may be worth it for the WBSK.  $95.76 USD.

I had to pay $12.99/mo just to get BeIn for WSBK. It was literally the only thing I watched in that package. The WSBK Video Pass is a cost savings for me...and should be way better coverage in addition.  [thumbsup]

The MotoGP Video Pass is awesome too. I can watch that on some other channel, but the pass is too good.

This is what I was hoping for when Dorna took over.

The WSBK videopass is still coming up to speed ( pun intended  ;D ) --- We'll have to wait for racedays to see how it all goes. They say there will be video archives of past races but so far nada on that account.

i emailed WSBK about that and 2014 will be the first for onDemand full races when they come available. previous years will be highlights. but so far its nice not having to wait til somebody on youtube posting the videos 2 weeks later. really good superpole action and a lot of footage that would get cut out when aired on Speedtv.

Bought the motoGp and SBK Season pass as I tried motoGp pass last year and loved the coverage. AT&T uverse has bein network with sport channels that would bring my father-in-law over the house too much, so I chose the season pass only
