Title: Trimming Carbon Fiber Post by: Skybarney on February 03, 2014, 12:40:54 PM Hey folks, I have a piece of finished carbon fiber I would like to trim a bit. Of course I have a dremel so I am thinking that would be easiest but I thought I would ask some advice before attempting to destroy a clear coated $50.00 piece.
Thanks! Title: Re: Trimming Carbon Fiber Post by: stopintime on February 03, 2014, 12:59:11 PM I used a cutting wheel for the straight sections and a cutter (?) for the round corners.
Smooth and careful sanding afterwards will (did for me anyway) leave the edges clean and the surface undamaged. (http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l394/stopintime/Side%20covers/sidecover001.jpg) Title: Re: Trimming Carbon Fiber Post by: ducpainter on February 04, 2014, 04:53:39 AM Wear a mask!

Thanks DP will do, I had figured it was a must as I used to play with fiberglass once in a while. Bet CF is worse. Title: Re: Trimming Carbon Fiber Post by: memper on February 05, 2014, 04:56:51 PM Yes! Mask, gloves and eye protection.
