Hello everyone,
I've got a Sachs rear from a 99 m750 dark i want to restore to original condition or close to it, if possible.
does anyone know if i can re-fill the gas charge? will probably get a new spring from race-tech if i can
recharge the gas.
thanks for any ideas.
4 or 5 years ago I enquired about getting a recharge from a local crew and they wouldn't do a recharge unless they also rebuilt the shock for around $500. I decided to leave the shock alone, still seems to work OK
It can be refilled, but the question is, where did it leak out?
If it 's not leaking oil, then recharge and see what it does.
Also check the condition of the chrome on the shaft. If the chrome is worn don't put any money in it.

$500? Good god... I had my Ohlins shock serviced by Ohlins USA to the tune of $160, and that was only because it needs a couple unexpected items
$500... that's nuts
Lindeman Engineering rebuilt the stock shock from my '99 M750 about 8 years ago and it cost me about $150 which included all new seals, new oil and a fresh nitrogen charge.
I don't know if they still do it though...
^^^ +1 ^^^ If they still do it they are top notch. Used them a couple of times in years past.
