Not bad only did 160 miles, I also bought the touring seat, which I know is very nice as I did 500+ miles over 2 days with one, but the cowl cover would not fit on it. I will go back to get that seat and the tail bag. When I do any sort of overnight that seat with tail bag and tank bag will go on the bike, rest of the time it is stock seat and no tail or tank bag. - Gene

Are you going to keep her "polite" or go for full volume?  In stock trim, the Diavel system actually has a decent sound, but you're not going to win any "loudest bike" awards with it.  ;)

As for the tank bag, it looks like you could lay your head down and take a nap. Of course I wouldn't advise that... ;D

This bike makes plenty of noise but the exhaust is too big, passenger's boot hits the heat shield, the problem is solved with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eAeSUqu_M I # (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eAeSUqu_M I #) better looking too. Trust me there will be no sleeping on this machine, pay attention and it rewards. - Gene

That does look and sound better.  Watching the video I was somewhat surprised to notice that the Diavel doesn't appear to have any sort of collector/cat between the header and tailpipe, unlike my Multistrada and most other recent Ducs. I've ridden a Diavel, but didn't pay close enough attention to notice that. The lack of a cat/collector is nice as it appears to make it much simpler to swap out the exhaust and hear decent results.

Take a look at 0:45 - 0:46 when he flips the stock exhaust. The cat is hiding behind the black shield

It is more noticeable from the other side, I hope to see it closer when they put on the new system at 600 mile service, which will be when I get back from Daytona. I also found a nice small tank bag for local riding, http://www.revzilla.com/product/firstgear-laguna-mini-hard-tank-bag (http://www.revzilla.com/product/firstgear-laguna-mini-hard-tank-bag) , the Ducati one along with the tail bag is enough for a week of travel for me. The tail bag mount is nice just slide it over the seat. I bought the touring seat, very reasonable, so when I go 2up or on a trip I just swap seats, and the rear cowl just stays on the stock seat. - Gene

It's hard to see it clearly in that video.  I'll have to look at it in person more closely the next time I am at the dealer.

I am still torn about what to do with my Multi.  My 1000DS had a full system and was rather loud.  Sometimes I really miss that sound and others I appreciate a quieter bike. I must be getting old.... :-[
