So I haven't ridden in the rain, haven't washed the bike in a while, but the last few times I've come back home from work (~65-70 miles) I've noticed "water" dripping from the drain on my airbox. It's definitely a water like substance. Has a chemical type smell to it. When I popped the tank and looked in the airbox, it appears to be coming from my oil overflow hose. Any ideas?
I'd say it's the engine getting hot enough to boil off the water in the crankcase.
Water vapor is one of the byproducts of combustion, and some gets past the piston rings.
Also, as the engine cools, it does pull a bit of air back in to the crankcase, which does have a bit of water in it.
Is your oil sightglass milky?
Sightglass isn't milky. This is probably about 3-5ml of water immediatly after I park. I notice it doing my walkaround before I put the bike away.
