Title: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: kokis on March 03, 2014, 05:37:03 AM Comon we all have good fast powerfull bikes.
How can you keep speed limits? most of roads have 45MPH limit. You can't avoid ticets for speed. Nor escape, it is USA. Here is 2-3 world countries people ride twice as limit if roads are ok and can even escape or pay cops some 20-50$ and get away with it. Sometimes we talk police out of huge tickets, sometimes we just pay them. Many of us have learned where to play and not likely get caught, other run when they see the lights.
So yup big fun to ride in The States. Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: Blackout on March 04, 2014, 10:33:12 AM Getting my license back today!

Speed limits on limited access highways in the US usually range from 55 MPH up to 75 MPH, 80 in parts of Texas [thumbsup] depending on state and population density and usually there a grace of at least 5 MPH before a ticket is issued. http://www.motorists.org/speed-limits/state-chart (http://www.motorists.org/speed-limits/state-chart) Oh, I did get to pay off a cop once [evil] Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: koko64 on March 04, 2014, 02:11:12 PM I checked that link and I'm green with envy!
It's a max of 60 on all our HWYs/FWYs except for one multi lane interstate FWY that is 65 (and littered with speed cameras). Track days are important here. Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: ducpainter on March 04, 2014, 04:54:47 PM I bet the forest/mountain roads up your way are fun at 65/70. They are.Too bad the posted limit on most is 40. I have to be honest...even up here where there isn't a lot of traffic density...street riding has lost a bunch of its allure. People just don't pay attention. Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: Blackout on March 21, 2014, 08:46:15 AM I learned (the hard way) a coupla years ago in colorado that speeding tickets in state parks carry no points and they don't report to insurance. Just pay the big fine and go on your way.

Also, being on the track has completely ruined me. L The streets are terrifying places full of texting drivers and hard things to run into when you have an ooops Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: duccarlos on April 22, 2014, 05:16:05 PM Big part of the reason I've stopped riding on the streets altogether. L The streets are terrifying places full of texting drivers and hard things to run into when you have an ooops I still ride the street occasionally but most of my time is spent at the track these days. Big shout out to Harris Hill Raceway for providing such a great place to play. Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: Speeddog on May 25, 2014, 10:52:04 PM I can still have fun without getting my knee down or riding at "go directly to jail" speeds.
8) Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: ab on December 11, 2014, 11:09:33 PM Well budget tickets. I had few years of ridiculous tickets (2 in 2 days to name a few). After 2 years, i got one this past season. :(.
It's still fun to ride especially out of town in rural roads with good twists and keep trying to improve and work on fears etc Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: jrswanson1 on December 12, 2014, 06:53:57 AM I have never gotten a moving violation. And yes, I speed, a lot.

Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: jrswanson1 on December 16, 2014, 09:08:28 AM 30 years on the road, I drive in stealth mode. And naked bikes here don't draw Smokey's attention [laugh]
Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: Dochunt on June 03, 2015, 06:56:52 PM It is not the actual speed but the relative speed thats fun.
Taking a tight 25 MPH exit off a highway at 55 mph can be a lot of fun, and usually no cops on exits. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Is it any fun to ride bike in USA Post by: hbliam on June 10, 2015, 06:36:57 PM Here is 2-3 world countries people ride twice as limit if roads are ok and can even escape or pay cops some 20-50$ and get away with it.
